"In my opinion, [kids] play soccer because of the freedom of the game, because they feel freedom to be creative on the field. They can express themselves on the field and freedom is something the kids love. We have to take advantage of that, and guide them to use that freedom in the best way."
-Wilmer Cabrera, the new U.S. U17 boys national team coach.
STYSA and AAYSA require that all coaches be licensed within one year from the date they begin coaching.
U11 and above teams coaches must have a license to attend playoffs.
Anyone wishing to attend a licensing clinic should call the soccer line and we will schedule a clinic if there is enough interest. You may check the STYSA web site for clinics in other locations. Please provide a copy of your license to the local board. Licensed coaches will be given priority for teams. You must also complete the "Adult" registration form and turn it in by July 31st.
This form can be filled out and then printed.
